Oceanside

Oceanside

It was a day at the beach

With some gulls just out of reach

And my feet in the ocean

Where a jelly fish lay there broken

Some kids there flew a kite

Willing it to fly up high

And others threw a ball around

And a frisbee they had found

Little fish were flying too

Gliding from the ocean blue

And landing back in the water

With some fish sailing farther

Crabs sidestepped on the sand

There as gunslingers with their hands

Quick to draw their 45s

And wielding them way up high

Many seashells I would find

With the sound of the ocean inside

And I decided to take one home

Claiming it as my own

Felt like I was there. Been a while since I've been to the ocean. Around 7 years I think? Ahh, to be there again. The smell is divine. Lovely poem, I like it.

Thanks for your comments, Nicholas. It's been a while since i've been to the ocean myself, and i'd really like to go again soon. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem.
