Little Rain

w c

Little Rain

The sweet smell of honeysuckle

Was perfume in the day

With hummingbirds the little fellows

That hovered then flew away

Carpenter bees bumbled

In the flowers there

With many fledglings wonderful

In the morning air

The fruit of mulberry trees

Left the pathway stained

With songbirds there and calling

Softly in the rain

The pathway through the wood

Winded there around

Being outdoors was good

With some sprinkles coming down

ooooo I can smell the wet day and see all the images......... I've just put out little nesting platforms for hummingbirds so will see next month if they like them and set up house!

Thanks, Lorna! I just put out another blue bird box. They probably won't use it for a while, but it will already be there when they decide to nest. I'll be putting nectar in the hummingbird feeders very soon..

The hummingbirds don't show up here in CT until around the 2nd week in May - not too far off! I'll let you know if they use the nesting platform!
