Tick-tock

MeMe

I've been waiting for that moment

where inner peace washes over my body and soul.

Tick.

I can almost feel those waves crash over me,

but I still wait for the break of emotion.

Tock.

Instead of the open ocean,

I find myself encased in a cold, hostile room.

Tick.

The walls slowly creep toward me knowing I can't fight back.

They laugh at my frozen silence and take over me.

Tock.

My mind is a prisoner with my self esteem as my persecutor.

Tick-tick-tick-

If only I could break the binds,

then my soul should be free of each torturous second

I spend waiting for the ocean.

Tick-tock.

Beautifully written and expressed. I wish you best of luck on searching for inner peace. It’s an interesting journey indeed. 🙂
