Wisdom

Wisdom

Wisdom is the best of things

And the wise know it’s so

A reward to those that have lived

And travelled down the road

Wisdom is a gradual thing

And is the sum of our days

With the satisfaction that it brings

To those old and gray

Wisdom grows with years and trials

And the struggles in one’s life

With a history of valuable things

On which we rely

Wisdom includes a responsibility

To pass along the light

As a gift to those needing it

From those that have survived

Wisdom does not come from books

But is a spiritual thing

With a life given a second look

And the insight that it brings
