For Once

Doll in Wonderland

Sometimes,

I think about when I walked in

And took off my shoes.

You met me at the door,

And hugged me like a long lost friend

You put your hands on my face,

I felt like it was the first and only time

You really saw me.

And you kissed me like someone who really cares

Or someone who needed something.

Slow and gentle, for once.

All I could think about was

How warm your cold blue eyes were

And that you never did take me to dinner.
