Looking Out Onto the Water

Thoff1

Looking out onto the water I see inky darkness,
What was once calm and soothing stings my bones
As I try to think of how to get out of this new jam.
Why couldn't she love me?

Oh man, what has come of me?
Loss of country, friends, and even self doesn't touch this feeling,
United only by looking into my pain I keep up, or try to.
Everyday up upon every single goddamn day I'm without luck.

The waiting and the waiting is so very cruel,
It's a little funny if you think about the luck I have,
As a child I had almost no one and now nobody loves me enough to accept me.

Well maybe I'll sail off to the coast of Spain,
Or find people to start a new society,
Maybe I'll wage war against my oppressors and never back down,
Or paint the fields near my house a new gorgeous color.

For now I'll just pick up my book and dream a few dreams,
One day It'll be great. I tell you it'll be great!
My love will find me and the ones who hurt me,
They will regret everything they did and think about me
And the value I have and of their own mis-comings.
