Poems range in subject from democratic freedoms to global warming, from wonders of nature to life experiences, and episodes of laughter.

I SEE GOD

 Smile on a baby’s face

Eyes of a dog wagging its tail

Daylilies swaying in the wind

Pair of sparrows building a nest

Joy of children dancing in the rain

The face of an old man sitting on a bench

A butterfly scampering through the fields

A bride wearing a veil

I see God in each of them

"Through a skillful blend of poetry and prose, Sepala Weliwitigoda's “The Maple Tree,” pulls you into the irony of modern living. From commonplace subjects—squirrels, buses, scrapbooks, to the sublime—the life-affirming philosophies that define us, Weliwitigoda will challenge you to take a fresh look at the world through his almost Haiku-like writings. The Maple Tree is insightful, contemplative, and inviting."
