The Forest

Eravaash

The green and yellow brighten the sky.
It blocks the view of the night.
The darkness that follows my past.
It's twilight seems to always last...

And so I follow the gravel road.
The darkness quickly unfolds.
It's burning touch ignites the way.
The fire keeps me at bay...

The glistening rain pours from above.
Nature's tears shield all She loves.
The once mighty fire turned to fog.
I track my way home, much like a lost dog.

But the air grows thick with deathly fumes!
Darkness again hangs and looms!
Above so high for all to see!
So I try to coward and flee!

The once plentiful greens turned to ash!
I try to make a desperate dash!
For some light, despite my fears!
My emotions hide in my tears!

I fall into a tar filled pond!
The ooze seeps far and beyond!
I cannot escape the tight grasp.
I yield and let out one final gasp.

My sight grows dim while the smoke thickens.
The health of the forrest fails and sickens.
I sink further into the tar filled deep...
I close my eyes and go to sleep...

The ember and smoke choke the sky.
The sun attempts to break the night, it tries...
The few rays of light conjoin itself...
It shines on the body of my once former self...
