Sunshine

anora_aragon

The sun is bright today, blinding

So I draw the curtains close,

the shadows keep me company,

as the sun peaks through,

curious to see how the devils dance,

even daylight searches for company,

searches in the wrong places,

the shadows dance to my cries,

until my cries turn to laughs,

madness is a cold hug in the dark,

but it is better than no hug in the light,

the sun is bright today,

I open the blinds and burn,

it is the warmest I have felt,

the sun falls, maddened by the sight of me,

it has realized that some things,

like me, are better left in the dark
