The Preacher

Edthepoet

So It goes keep heaven in my heart
And guessing in my head
If there's an angel in my bath
Theres a devil in my bed
Keep forgiveness on my mind
And sinning on my breath
It's a little hard to cry
When it's this fun, close to death

So it goes keep nirvana within reach
And darkness as a friend
If there's an angel for us each
There's a devil where she ends
Keep salvation on my mind
And sinning on my breath
It's a little hard to try
When it's this fun, close to death

If we have to make a choice
Well I'd rather never choose
You don't have to raise your voice
If you don't wanna lose
A whisper in the wind
Leaves the preacher
Scared to move

even when you choose you don't choose. you cant. just pretend you can.

This reads like the story of my existence now at age 66. Once again you show tremendous insight and i envy your ability as a wordsmith. This piece joins quite a few other pieces of yours in my favourites. I was reading my favourites to a friend recently and they too found your work remarkably good.

Wow, thank you Dusk. Nicest comment I've received so far.
