Under The Clouds

Maxine Smith

Beneath the clouds is the home which we grow

Surrounding us, the dark rain overflows

Bodies shiver, such unbearable cold

Lips turn blue, our drenched clothes we are stuck to

Just as you admit defeat, you then see

Clouds shift, the beautiful sunshine will out

Once cold, now filled with warmth and energy

Dry clothes, eyes unfold, strength builds in your soul

The darkness will always pass over you

Learn and thrive, be prepared for the next time
