hellish garden

theseachild

The garden of the dark that's nestled in my mind,

That screams sad wishes, that is difficult to find.

The rose bush thorns that prick my thumb,

The herbal plants that make my mouth numb.

The roots that tangle my arms till they snap,

The trees that seal my mouth shut with their poisonous sap.

The roses that smell so bittersweet,

The marigolds with sharp teeth that make my heart skip a beat.

The sunflowers that giggle at my bleeding chest,

The birds joining them, screeching from their nest.

The violets that injected seeds in my vein,

It made me cry from anguish till my eyes were dain!!

The weeds held my body oh so tight,

It burnt so badly I saw ripples of light!!

My nervous system felt like it was going to burst!!

What had I done wrong?? Why was I cursed?!

The one thing left I could possibly deem,

Was pray to awaken from this hellish dream!!

  • Comment from author about the poem: This was a bad dream I had once that at one point became a sight from sleep paralysis. I wanted to write about it so others that suffer the constant nightmares could know they aren't the only ones suffering from such a hard thing while resting. Hope you enjoyed!!
