Another Year Older

"Carter Wills"

And so another year is added again
to this ever growing count.
Another twelve months of memories
for one to again later doubt.

And so it goes again,
life just passing its way by,
Days, months, weeks, the years
gone within the blink of an eye.

And so I sit here again,
just another year older.
Another session of recollections
to be tucked away in a mental folder.

But, worrisome as it can be,
it's just as plenty exciting,
to take the time to look forward to
all that this next year will bring.

Very true and deep write, life can be intimidating yet beautiful as the great Ferris Bueler once said " If you don't stop and look around once and a while you might miss it" It being life of course but i digress. Very nice write keep it up Carter

This felt like such a bittersweet poem to read. Like time just passes and there's nothing we can do about it, we forget things and we try to remember but nothing can ever be recollected perfectly. Then again, that's okay because we needs to keep living in the past and keep thinking about everything that happened when there's still so much more to come.

I loved the simplicity and honesty of this poem. No superfluous embellishments, just your message behind aging. It was great!
