A Letter You Can Never See

ettolrahc

Dear Mum & Dad,

We wanted to be together,
Forever and ever.
But it got to the stage,
Where we couldn't turn the page.

We looked for a way out,
Wanted to scream and shout.
But you started to look ill,
Time couldn't stand still.

A strong family we are,
So I said "yes, move far."
You had to get away,
But I had to stay.

You had each other,
And even my brother.
It was difficult for me,
But I didn't let you see.

I was still in the county,
For I did not flee,
So it was all down to me,
To fix what you could no longer see.

No resentment I hold,
Even when I was out in the cold.
With no where to stay,
I didn't even pray.

For I knew it was right,
Your future now looked bright.
I would do it all again,
Just to keep you sane.

But God forbid you ever see,
Just what it was like for me.
Love is all we need to see,
For you would move the world for me.

Lots of love,
C
