Poetry O'Leilah

I was once lead astray

Unknowing and unafraid;

Seeing only a path with less pain.

I thought the fire could be contained,

But it all went up in flames.

I found myself in darkness, enslaved.

Despair was snaking through my veins.

I was no longer in control, no longer sane.

Still, I didn't see the price I paid.

Then you came; an explosion, a grenade.

From that moment everything changed;

Because of you, I was remade.

The shadows lifted and I was unchained,

My soul reignited and my life was saved.

    This shows the love and dedication parents should have for their children. To love them so much that that love saved you from yourself. And the crazy thing is; they will not understand the depth of that love unless they have children of their own. Thank you for sharing a glimpse of that love.
