You are Gone

The Lost Poet

i wish you were here

here with me

but you just left

and shed no tear

maybe we weren’t enough,

maybe I wasn’t enough

You left, but no one is mad

next time give us a chance

to prove what you are and

you might just see

that you are what we need.

If I could see through your eyes

I would take your pain away,

If I could feel what you feel

I would take your pain away,

If you were still here,

I would take your pain away.

I know you’re up there

somewhere beyond the sunset,

I just hope you get what you need.

The warm colors hugging you,

as they take you down.

You are not here anymore,

or maybe you still are.

If you see me, please stay close,

You were the glasses on my nose.

I want to join you, but please do

stop me, remind me, and this will do.

As who watches, suffers too.
