Prairie Dog City
There was a wonderful family
In a neighborhood there good
With everyone happily
Standing when they could
They barked at forms and shadows
And sought refuge in their homes
Under cover a little while
Until the ghosts were gone
It was a cheerful place to live
As everyone knew the other
And a neighborly call they would give
To communicate with one another
Their homes were impressive
With tunnels all around
With the close-knit family
Safe there underground
The town was well populated
With extended families
And like bowling pins on their mounds
Were as far as could be seen
