A Mask Worn

A Mask Worn

Life calls forth a mask

That many wear about

It is but an act

To help us feel less doubt

We are each good players

On the grand stage of life

We give a good performance

All the days of our lives

Some feel it required

Pretending to be another

With nothing feeling contrived

When long enough we cover

Others feel  one day

Courage will win out

And we will be ourselves

As we go about

Until then we are actors

As we work and play

Though some see there through us

And like us anyway

A fine write w c. I don't go along much with 'All the world's a stage, and we the players'. Yet I've come to dislike clowns more and more over the years (masks, etc).

Hardest thing in life isn't it! Being real.... I love the last two lines especially!
