FROM THE MOMENT, I SEEN YOUR FACE
I ALREADY KNEW, YOU FILLED THAT PLACE
THAT PLACE IN MY HEART, THAT WAS OUT OF SIGHT
NOW WHEN I SEE YOU, IT SHINES SO BRIGHT
WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN, THAT ID RECEIVE
THE BLESSING I WANTED, THE ONE I NEED
I HELD YOU SOFTLY, THEN HELD YOU TIGHT
ARE YOU REALLY MINE, THIS IS TO RIGHT
YOU OPENED YOUR EYES, A ND LOOKED AT ME
MY HEART WAS FILLED, THE EMPTINESS FREED
FROM THAT DAY FORWARD, I ALWAYS KNEW
YOU'D LOVE ME FOREVER, AND ID ALWAYS LOVE YOU
ILL STAY BY YOUR SIDE, ILL FIGHT FOR YOU
ILL CHASE AWAY YOUR SADNESS, SO YOUR NEVER BLUE
I CANT WAIT TO SEE, WHAT YOU BECOME
YOUR MY NUMBER ONE GAL, SECOND TO NONE
WHEN YOU SMILE AT ME, YOU GIVE ME STRENGTH
TO GO THE DISTANCE, NO MATTER THE LENGTH
YOUR HUGS ARE WARM, YOUR LAUGH SO CUTE
WHEN YOU SPEAK TO ME, THE WORLD GOES ON MUTE
ILL NEVER FORGET, THE DAY WE MET
I WAS SO ANXIOUS, AND COVERED IN SWEAT
I FOUND TRUE LOVE, EXIST IN MY WORLD
THE DAY GOD GAVE ME, MY LITTLE GIRL

- Comment from author about the poem: A good portion of my life was spent trying to find love and getting hurt. One morning as I sat there and had tears rolling down my face I felt a tiny hand lay on my shoulder followed by the words, "It's ok daddy I'll always love you and I'll never leave." That's what I call true love.

There is no love like the love parents have for their children. Great write. She's beautiful! Such a sweet smile.
