Bob-White Explosion

Bob-White Explosion

Quickly there departing

They burst into the sky

With their covey alarming

To those hunting by

They flew along a fence line

And into a little lane

They ran and ran then stopped

And whistled loud their name

To follow them meant danger

Somewhere on the ground

And when braced for their flight

They were as landmines around

Each hunter did a tour of duty

Through the many bursts

With anxiety aplenty

As he flushed the birds

Dogs proved helpful

In locating the bombs

And gave a needed warning

That birds they’d come upon
