lockdown

“Lockdown...Lockdown”
Sit still, get on the ground.
Make no sound, don’t fight back,
Otherwise the intruder will know where to attack.
Who would have known, the depressed school whore,
Would try to harm the school with all the hate in their core.
Who would have known, they had weapons ready to use,
Not only kill their only friends, but their sanity is what shall lose.
To attack us when the year is nearly blown past,
To make themselves known, have their name last.
Whom is so insecure to kill those who cause no harm?
Was it simply the anger, that causes the cuts on their arm?
Why would she rampage and make such a threat?
Does she truly enjoy her friend’s fear, with their cheeks being wet.
I crouch in the corner, defending my friends, becoming stiller and stiller.
Waiting for my “dear” old friend, the intended killer.

I've been waiting for a poem like this to fill the void, the unlawful attacks on our schools are out of control. I know a lockdown doesn't make everything alright. Thank you for the read, so sorry you have to go through this.

Thank you so much! I plan on releasing my actual story (in a poem format of course!) going into detail. I’m glad you enjoyed!
