Inner Me

A. F. Naturaliy

Peek outside my hollow skull

The water is warm

But the air is cold

My coat wraps around me

Tighter than her embrace

My hand holds the coat together firmly

The pool in my head pours as I think

About what we used to be

My hair whips my face gently

It’s sad how love can die

The melancholy of life

Is colder than the me inside my mind
