Failure

skyebellasario

Like an ominous eagle,

Looming above

The fear of failure

Clings to the surrounding air.

Every time I take a deep breath,

Hoping for the negative thoughts

To take flight out of my mind.

But the thought

Of not succeeding

Clouds my vision

And my heart begins to flap.

Millions of possibilities

Flutter around my brain

Of the disasters that could happen,

Instead of the vibrant dreams

I have had planned since thirteen.

Everyday my wings are preparing

To propel me into success

But what if they fail?

I fall.

Excellent poem, Skye! You will soar like an eagle! We all get those "what if" flutters and that's okay.

You fall; then rise like a phoenix out of the ashes. Fear of failure is what will hold you back from meeting or exceeding your goals. I wish you well poet and your future success.

I know failure is a part of success but it terrifies me, thank you! 🙂
