Pull the Trigger

Gabriela

I’m cryin on my knees, beggin daddy please don’t do this, things will get better, I’ll help you make it through this. Tears roll down your face, your minds in outer space, with a gun to your head, you say you wanna be dead.

How could you let your little girl down when you’re the one who is supposed to pick her up off the ground? A broken heart, broken soul, daddy don’t lose your self-control. I’m not going nowhere, even when I’m bigger, daddy please don’t pull the trigger.

I need you more than ever, your baby girl forever. Please look me in the eyes and give me one good reason why. Your reason can’t be true, I can’t walk this life without you. Since the first day you held me my heart was yours, this we all know for sure. My fishing buddy, my dance partner, a bond that can’t be broke. I can see the look in your eyes, I pray you’re gonna choke.

I want you to see me succeed in life, build a family of my own. I want you to watch me strong and proud, overcoming the unknown. I know you have been through hell and back and want to give up, but you are my knight in shining armor, my diamond in the rough.

Mental illness affects us all in many ways. Your perspective is compelling and persuasive. I hope you are able to share this with your dad.
