summer time life

The sun is bright and oh so lovely,
When the otter pops droop low from our lips,
Where the water slides are slick so cold,
And roller coasters withheld deep dips.

Where flip flops clacked on the hot pavement,
And the warm breeze was a true bless,
When the trees swayed with a graceful dance,
Our ponytails being a weaving sweaty mess.

Where the fire cracked and rippled the cotton candy sky,
Throwing water balloons with the temperature of cool,
Hugging our friends and taking pictures at the mall,
And splashing around inside the pool.

Summertime kisses and scandalous dares,
Vaping smoke and sex at the galore,
Licking ice cream while sitting at the curb,
Leaving all our memories at the door.

Boarding the plane and taking pictures of our vacation,
Post them on instagram, because why not?
Playing video games till 3 am,
Sneaking out with our plugs and hopefully not getting caught.

Picnics under the shade of a tree,
Walking around the town in the night,
Dancing in the soft pelting rain,
And watching the firework stick ignite.

These summer goals and memories are ones to make,
Creating the things we love from the very start,
We may not forever have the pictures and memories,
But we will forever have them in our heart.
