A Heartfelt Thank You

I want to write a poem

About someone who brightens my world

But I don’t really know

How to put it down into words

You know that feeling

Where you know that you’re upset

You just want to scream

But you simply can’t forget

That though there is sorrow

Haunting your every move

It’s all blocked out

By someone who loves you

Your mask has been removed

Your true self revealed

This someone who loves you

Assures your scars will heal

And they sit by your side

And they close your hand in theirs

And for once in your life

You don’t feel as scared

That someone I speak of

Is a person of my life

And whenever I’m around them

I forget my worries and strife

So I guess I’ll end this poem

With a heartfelt thank you

Just like you’ve been here for me

I’ll always be here for you
