Rain again

Jo March

Rain again…

The patter rocks me to sleep…

Insane again…

Does it matter?

Your eyes look into mine.

Washed out in the blur of tears…

Yours… mine…

No, I’ve been down that road

Is there anything that can replace your own shadow?

Please correct me.

Correct me in red

So I can see…

Dip the brush…

Place the tip in the rose-colored palette…

I want to see…

The sun…

Put away those cardboard boxes.

I want a piece of the sky…

Blue blue rose ash.

Lovely… pale…

Smile at me

In a crowd amid a thousand faces.

Heartbeat… yours mine…

I will hear…

Your heart… beat… against mine…

Your smile… peace… of mind.

I know…

Conscience, you and I are strangers…

Shadow… foreshadow… erase my footprint.

No, there is no danger… not really…

Tired of focusing, my eyes squint. Nearly…

I see…

No escape…

Sometimes, I want to disappear….

Glow and flicker

In the shadow of your smile…

Look outside

Put your small hand in mine.

It’s spring… mid-March…

I want to sing…

The day is young…

And you and I, we have time…

So much time…

But something’s on your mind.

My mind…

I want vernal showers…

To drench me from head to foot…

I want fields of yellow flowers

All aglow…

Give me… your glowing smile

And I will see it in a thousand faces…

No one is a stranger…

Everyone is… my… friend… your friend…

What’s that you say?

Lost…

Yes, I always liked running after my shadow…

Most of all…

Did you?

Especially when it hid from me…

Mirrors…

How many times did you see faces

Reflected in a glass?

Tears…

Glass full of tears…

Melt like cotton candy…

Warm like spring snow…

Come home now…

Open the door wide… wide…

Sit in the driveway and let spring walk in…

Glowing like your face…

Don’t play? No hide and seek…

Just sit by me

We’ll watch the sun set

At the end of the week…

My mood… let it be…

Life is a mess… for me…

Mind if I complain?

Sad… Confused…

Don’t know…

Sometimes… feel like…

I want to disappear…

No… not for long…

Just for a moment under your footprint.

In the spring rain…

Then… come back…

Resurface

Lean my cheek against the cold windowpane

And look… outside…

Run… work… sleep… dream inside…

Disappear in a thousand faces…

Reappear in yours…

Lovely… happy…

I want to make someone truly…

Yours truly happy…

Let me dream…

Just sit by me here for a while

And let me spill my dream

Cold as ice cream…

Warm… like your smile…

Chocolate melt…

Melt in your eyes…

Fall on the tile…

If it falls, will you pick it up?

Dream… Dream away

Happy in your shadow

The shadow of a dream

Then take a deep breath…

Don’t give in to sorrow

Turn straight down this path

Overgrown with the hopes of tomorrow

No, not the end

What does the weather say?

Snow in June

Only for a day?

Give me a dream

And let it glow

In the golden sun beam

In the melted ice cream

The sun is low

On the horizon

The day is getting old

Gray-haired

White as an angel’s wing

Don’t… beg you…

Don’t send me down that road.

Know… I don’t know

If I will come back to you.

Make history and bless me in your smile.

Turn over the pages of time.

Nothing is eternal.

Love… alone is… immortal…

Give me… a glass full of love

Overfilled with pain

But reflected in the sky above

Your eyes, your smile in the rain.

A new day will dawn

Let’s watch it rise

Pale so pale…

Just a pawn

Life measured on the scale

Spring rain patters…

Listen to it…

Hopes are shattered…

Only for a while… a bit

Just wait till the smoke clears…

You say…

I want to laugh, scream, jump

In puddles… too many years

And a day, just one day we have to fill the glass of tears.

My tears… but not yours.

Read Homer again…

Just make a mental note…

The Odyssey… the pain returns…

Only not for me… Not for you…

Tip the scale…

No, I’m not playing anymore…

Life, I am coming back… no more pale ghosts.

Bless you… yes…

Just think

In one hundred years' time…

We will meet and maybe hearts will sing

Your heart and mine.

Play in the sunshine

Laugh in the rain

Spring will begin

For you and yes… for me…

Silence….
