A wish

jailynn✨

I wish upon the moon
For you to stay
That maybe every night when the moon comes
It hears my dying wish
I wish upon the stars to keep you close
That maybe if I wish on the right one
It’ll stay true
I wish and wish
That I’ll never lose you
But maybe the moon and the stars
However many they are
Are finding a way to tell me
That If it’s meant
I won’t have to wish and wish and wish
That in fact you’ll stay
You’ll keep close
I won’t lose you
And if it’s not
That no matter how many stars
No matter how bright the moon is
You’ll never be mine
But if it’s not
Do I really want to see the moon or the stars
Do I want to see the constant myth
That wishing on a star nor the moon
Will make it come true
But to live in a slumber
Where the wishes are not needed
Where you stay.
