Where I Bleed

Kurt Philip Behm

I caught the Muse having an affair….

with my banished and cursed darker side

I could hear them laughing inside me,

 such lovemaking I cannot abide

A tryst most unwelcome though familiar,

my dreams left abandoned of sleep

To kill off the one, I must kill off the other

—alone in the night where I bleed

    Kurt,
Our Muse can be rather cruel!

    Most painful...’tis the night!

    Unbearable to bear...
    And bleed we must!

        You are a welcomed sight!

        Reading is...

my sanity in the wake of the night to combat a tortured soul...

        Amen!
