Fathered

Yorelzinala

Scared young man

Afraid to fail

I won't bail on you

I know the world's going too fast

Slow it down

You'll turn it around

I know you will

I fathered you

my son

I've given you all you need

The tools to endure

Your heart as pure as light

Your soul full of life

Your mind to think things through

You will fall sometimes

You will fail at times

I'll be there guiding you

like the lighthouse on the shores

of your ocean of trials and tribulations.

It'll be fine my son.

I am your father

your dad

I will always be proud of you.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a Father's Day poem for my two sons. My father wasn't always around, but he did the best he could. I hope to be a better father.
