Your kiss

Jamie P

Your kiss
Your kiss, it was enjoyable , but it wasn’t my first
And wasn’t our last, but the last was
Well blast it was regrettable
And although it was inevitable
That night you killed me
Me, a boy who thought he could take on the world
Was weak for a girl who would never love him,
Her heart lay with another boy
I tried to convince her that the heart
The part I craved the most
Was better off in my care
But as I bare witness to rejection after rejection,
On reflection, I stare
Into the open abyss that are her eyes and wonder
Why?
Why could she never hold me the way she holds him
Deep in her heart
Its hard to imagine the feeling of dying
But when she said no I couldn’t help but...crying
It was like a being hit by a thousand bullets, like poniards stabbing my precious heart
She was...his
And despite my attempts to make it so
All my attention fell on a deaf heart
It couldn’t hear mine cry out to hers
And whisper words I could never say before
I love you
