Dog

Ariel Melody

Stop pulling me away from them

Let me please talk to me friends

Stop trying to distance me

I’m old enough please don’t lead

I want to let them know more

I don’t want to shut them out the door

Stop pulling me please

Look! They’re going to leave

Stop I beg of you

Let me go!

My friends will turn to my foes

Stop guarding me please

I promise they won’t hurt me

Do I have to beg on my knees?

I’ll cry til I get weak

Let me be regular for once

They’ll mistake me for a dunce

Oh no! They’re turning away

Please! I have to make them stay

Oh why must you trap me in a cage?

Just let me have my way

I love them

Don’t you know what love is?

Just let me touch their shirt hem

I won’t have anyone else

Don’t you have sympathy for me?

All you do is hurt me!

Don’t try to lay with me

You’re just my enemy

Look! They’re already out the door

Now I will see of them no more

This isn’t a time of rest

Now I am in distress

You take everything away from me

My company and self esteem

Why can’t I have just one thing

Please get away from free!

Free me of this damned thing!
