Chess

edwinknox

You were my queen

In this little game of chess

I calculated every move

But still ended up in this mess

I was just a pawn

A piece for you to use

I guess deep down

I knew I was going to lose

Just know I did my best

As worthless as that may be

Because I was playing the game

While you were playing me

  • Comment from author about the poem: It has been a while since I have posted on here because I have been extremely busy with school and work. However, I have not forgotten! Very glad to get writing again now that summer is approaching and I have more free time. This one is short, hope you enjoy!
