sign of the times... (by: eddy styx)

sign of the times... (by: eddy styx)

on a gloom filled eve
fed of fog and mist
when the air was chill,
and clutched like an angry fist.
the dank did bite
on a moonless night
giving birth to him
of a ravening soul.
his first cries were of rage
infectious the were, taking a toll
as he howled in the darkness
of his anger and his ire.
his screams were heard
from miles around,
silencing those
who took to ground,
terrified beyond belief
for the prophesied evil
had been released
to grow and spread
disease and war upon the land,
in greed and power end
this the consequence of Man!

Eddy, on a night like that dont forget to button your coat. And watch out for those moths, your mum wont come into the woods to chase them out of the window you know.
You wait till i tell your sister about you.

              • Candlewitch

                LOL, thanks da!!!

                    Great work eddy.

Sounds like someone I've met, or is it me?

"infectious the were". Didja mean "they". It might change it to two lines. I hate when that happens!

                    • Candlewitch

                      dear Lawless,

yup, I meant "they" thanks for the suggestions and the eagle-eye!

                      ever, eddy
                      *hugs, Cat

                    • Laura

                      Another fine write eddy!

“disease and war upon the land,
                      in greed and power end
                      this the consequence of Man!”

These four lines could very well describe the direction this land is going toward!

                      Hugs 🤗
                      ~Laura~

I am hoping that this is not our destiny... thanks for reading.
