Hand

John Prophet

Hand

on the wall,

creation

complete.

Mouth

full of

pigment,

sprayed on

the hand.

Artist signature

for the

eons to

observe.

I

was here

the

artist

shouts out.

You don’t

know

who I am,

but,

I

was here!

We

know not

who

the

artist was.

But we

know the

meaning

of the

hand

on the

wall.

The hand

on the

wall.

We

do so

still!

Not a fan of the formatting that you chose for this piece, however I am a fan of the words! Might I ask, are you referring to the prehistoric art on the walls of caves? I am quite fascinated with prehistoric art.

      Hi Virago.

Yes with respect to prehistoric art. I use that format to focus on the individual words. Which can get lost in sentences and paragraphs I think.
Thank you for reading my work.

I suppose for me it was the visual part but now that you point that out, I understand it. I am glad to read!
