10 pm At Target

MaddieJ

Melancholy aisles and reckless heart

Running down the miles throwing candy in the cart

Sweets for the soul, given as a gift

Mind flushed, thoughts start to shift

Space and time have no place

As I walk down the aisle race

As though my mind wanders with the draft

Like a snowflake falling on the freezer door glass

  • Comment from author about the poem: Just a funny poem about the runaway thoughts that I had while shopping in Target after I went on a date. I might add, this was halfway written on my phone while actually walking around with the basket in Target! Just thought it was kinda comical. Enjoy! please comment if you feel led.

I know you are calling it comical but there is something melancholic and other worldly about wandering around in markets at night..... you caught that!
