There were times when I did,
unspeakable things -
some of them remain,
between me and Christ.
Had I not received salvation,
I would probably be deeper in that life.
I lived wearing baggy black pants,
and a black T-shirt,
with a camouflaged bandana to match.
I stood just beneath five foot seven,
and everything else came attatched.
Sure I thought that it was fun,
but then I did not know what life was.
I do not miss,
one ounce of it.
In fact for years, I was held down,
by the shame of what I have done.
Still, like Saul,
I had my personal moment,
with my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
I am greatful everyday,
for the Lord opening my eyes.
He did not let me see prison.
He did not let me die.
Instead he gave me a much greater gift.
He gave me a start at a new life.
Yet that was years ago,
but I will not ever forget it.
Now I know that in the end,
I am going to see heaven.

- Comment from author about the poem: I now know the sequence of events in this world as Christians. We live in sin / We accept Christ. We are dead to sin. We are born again with the Holy spirit. / We begin a new journey in this world as we grow in Christ until we reach our overall objective... Heaven, and it is the most beautiful journey there is. Persistence is key
