Good Dreams Tonight

Noah Malice

The sky outside is red

I'd better lie down for bed

The sun is setting but it's alright

I'm gonna get good dreams tonight

I can hear the rain come down

And as my dog begins to howl

I get out of bed to say, "It's alright,

"You're gonna get good dreams tonight."

The dog's asleep and I'm back in bed

Against a pillow I rest my head

Sometimes I hear sounds that give me fright

I try not to stress

I just do my best

To get good dreams tonight

You know that life can get so heavy

But you've got to hold on steady

The world can be bleak but it's alright

You're gonna get good dreams tonight

During the day

Dreams can slip away

But it's okay 'cause when the time is right

The day will turn to night

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this last October, adjusted some of the lines to not suck so much because it's a little hokey but I love it anyway. Cheers.
