Alone

Sooni A. Clock

She laid there alone no family from home

She just kept saying “I’m ready to go”

Every day more of the same

No one came to but who’s to blame

She told me of a time back in her prime

That she used to thrive now she just survives

We try to convince her

That we’re all going to miss her

She doesn’t want to hear it

She doesn’t even fear it

She just lies there alone

“I’m ready to go”.
