Thinking of you...

dave donovan

Notice of absence from dave donovan
i can sometimes be very lazy, dont worry, i will eventually get back to you. i am very busy, almost all the time...

As I lay here, thinking of you.

I pull apart the moments,

Trying to seek the truth.

Looking for a chance

To be with you.

When ever I speak to you,

My words get all confused.

I can’t say a thing to you.

Fear grips my heart

And the words tumble

To the ground.

And I know that I’m not

On your list.

I know I’m not the one

You’ll  miss.

I can see that your life

Takes you far and wide.

I can only watch and pray,

That you’ll notice me one day.

I can see the things you do.

That smile you try to hide,

That fills my heart with pride.

It’s not for me to see,

I know I’ll never be.

With you.

And if the day came, where I can

Talk to you and say,

That I miss you every day.

There’d be nothing left

For me to regret.

For I’d have my greatest

Desire.

To start that raging fire.

And when the flames grow higher,

I’d fulfil your every desire.

And show you every day,

In every single way.

Just how much I’d miss you.

As I lay here, thinking of you.

I pull apart the moments,

Trying to seek the truth.

Looking for a chance

To be with you.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Thinking of someone I know, this came to mind. Almost a song, I think. Less poetry, more lyrics. However, it’s just thoughts of yearning, but having no way to express the feelings. A trap of which I suffer, often.
