She saw the uniform men coming
Watching as they approached the door
As realization hit her, She cried out
,NO, then DROPPED to the floor
bringing the news of her loved one
Who's life was claimed in action
Tears rolling unchecked down her face
She couldn't control her heartbreak react
Honorable soldier coming home,
Life claimed during the last fight
Tears from family members
Falling down through out the night
Due to national security, they can't tell
Where, or how the death came to be
Except their loved one fought, hard
and died honorable for their country
She heard them ask ,Is there anyone
That can come, that we can phone
For in this time of your grief
We don't want to leave you alone
Hearing we are sorry for your lost
Your loved one was strong and brave
The body will rest in Arlington cemetery
In an honorable soliders grave
Please you can take comfort in knowing
Your loved one will not be alone
While transferred with flag covered coffin
Saluting soldiers honored our fallen soldier home
Through the fogginess of her pain
She watched the uniform men leave
Her brain acknowledge what they said
While her heart did not want to believe
HONORABLE SOLDIER is finally coming home

- Comment from author about the poem: Every families worse nightmare, when news of their child comes this way, after they had CHOOSEN to defend our country. You will notice I didn't include sex of soldier because we have female and male soldiers who fight with their giving our country their all.
