You don't know,
But how could you?
You don't have a clue,
But that's just you.
You look into my eyes
My mind goes blank.
Only you remain.
Your pain, your tears,
Rips my soul from me.
I feel broken.
But no, wait,
I'm the most blessed.
You need me.
No meaning before you,
Only petty be-ing.
No reality with you,
Life is a dream.
If only you knew,
So please take care.
You are my heart,
No life without you, child.

- Comment from author about the poem: I scribbled this out a while back when one of my kids was sick. It's a bit messy but oh well. I think the parents out there will be able to relate.

I CAN DEFINITLY RELATE TO THIS.IT BROUGHT ME BCK TO WHEN I HAD A MISCARRIAGE.SAD BUT MEMORABLE.THANK YOU.
I wasn't really sad when I wrote it. More that I was wanting to express the depth of my love for my kids. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I understand what you mean,I have my Nelly, but i was meaning that it also made me think of the one that I lost, and how much I loved that child as well.
We've lost babies too. It's a tragedy that I've been unable to put into words. People that have never felt that pain have no idea the impact that it has. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Thank you,I amsorry for yours to.I have also wrote about my daughter, stay tuned,I will be posting some of them soon.
I'll have to be sure to check them out. I recently posted a couple about my youngest daughter. And I think I've posted one or two others about them. (I have four).
I only have one,and she is my life
I've always felt that that is the way it should be. When a parent loves their kids the way they should, the child becomes the most important thing/person in the parent's life.
Some great imagery about the love for our children. Inspred me to try and explain it myself. Jealous of your walks by 'the lakes'.
The woods and the lake help me keep what's left of my sanity. (It's hanging by a thread at times) Thank you for your nice comment!
