Illusionary Paradise

CuriousSoul

The morning sun light glimmers against my skin. I wake up to see nothing but beauty and harmony.

But of course you're mind is lying. Your mind is in a state of solitary confinement fixed on seeing nothing but the good in the world. As it creates its illusions keeping you safe making you happy.

A loud slam is heard and you soon realize you got hit. Your head is throbbing as your mind fills with anger and hatred. Your mind is being fueled with the truth of life.

Your eyes widen you see clearly. You see past the illusions of ones mind. You see the corruption the discrimination against yourself and others.

You see the world you once saw light in consumed by darkness. You see that people no longer care for one another instead they care for their well being for money. While people in poverty are suffering the rich and wealthy mock and tease them.

Greed consumed this world. Darkness and evil itself consumed the minds of kind hearted people. For now I thought I was in paradise instead I'm in a living hel

  • Comment from author about the poem: My mind has been trapped in a constant state of positivity and basically frozen thinking there's still good left in the world. But I woke up this morning and my eyes opened again to see the truth once more.

Your work is so deep and relatable to read. Though it my feel impossible, things get brighter. ~ E
