The not so unbreakable fourth wall

Edthepoet

At the time it all made sense
It was very much in context
With what the previous person said
Looking back I think what I meant
Became disorientated in translation
Hindsight my friend is priceless
I'm trying to find the right words to express
Something along the lines of
I might have crossed
The proverbial rubicon with that one
Opening my mouth to change feet seems to be a daily occurrence since the dawning of my age of understanding
I understand what they are saying
I'm just not sure that I care as much as I hear Twitter thinks I should
Social justice warriors
It's hard to know what that means
Are they oxymoron warriors of peace triggering through gritted teeth?
Some might say that I don't see
Well I ask are they really as open minded and progressive as they want people to think
Or is that their truth until someone disagrees?
Well this has turned sharply down a very political street though my intention wasn't so
My intentions I'll be honest were unknown when I started this poem
I was just listening to a really good tune and these words started to flow
I really didn't want to stop writing I was enjoying it so much so I.......Maybe I should stop now though I seem to have broken the not so unbreakable fourth wall
But sometimes it's nice to let people in to see the creative process of it all
And what I'm trying to do now is finish this sentence with a word that rhymes with the last word of the one before... That's close enough I guess.. And now the curtain falls.
