Of Trees And Leaves

Of Trees And Leaves

In gusts the trees grow bare

And are naked in the sun

With no leaves anywhere

And spindly to everyone

It is an event

When leaves return each spring

Slowly coming forth

In beautiful shades of green

The green always changes

With the arrival of Fall

Turning leaves yellow and gold

And admired by us all

With the coming of winter

The beautiful colors turn brown

And when the leaves are raked

We toss and kick them ‘round

For evergreens there's celebration

The Christmas part of the year

With lights and an angel

On a cold night clear

These are truly blessed

With boughs growing wide

And are victorious specially

Each Christmas time
