Society

There lives in us a way to live a crass, unjust, inhumane way;
that leaves our hearts in multitudes of disarray.
To live that life is predetermined in the fate of few,
while others sit back and watch as they further delve into the blue.
No-one can understand how all of us slowly decay,
because all we can do is sit down and rot away.
We can not stand for what its worth,
for we can only increase the size of our girth.
And, if one were to stray away from the pack,
he would be mocked and therefore taken aback.
For he does not feel comfortable in his own skin,
as the world can only see him as unlike in akin.
Even if the masses started to make a difference in the way of life,
the only thing it would accomplish is making people further devoted to the knife.
As optimistically as we can look on certain things,
we cannot escape reality and grow wings.
We must also accept the fact that we are all enthralled to be appalled,
since our way of thinking has been reduced down to talking to a wall.
Consumerism runs through our brains,
like a drug that ruins through your veins.
It only further reduces out sacred unknowns,
and promptly reduces it to merely a stone.
We are slaves to our own imaginative way of thinking,
but all we merely doing is blinking.
To live a life without these things is a near bust,
since like iron, we all rust.
For we cannot live in a life of glee,
because we are all victims of society.
