Our Tragic End

Anasyil

My Amaranthine.
When I first laid my eyes,
you put me under your spell;
more a blessing than a curse
that stole my heart,
took my breath,
hypnotizing undying beauty.
Such beauty I envy
yet love so much.
My Romeo.
Fate was aware of our love
envied and despised our happiness,
keeping us apart.
Fate put a gap between us
but Destiny bridged us together;
red thread bounds us together...
It was supposed to be forever...
My Amaranthine, my Romeo.
Why did you betrayed me?
Cut the thread and threw me aside;
letting the fire died.
It was supposed to be us;
star-crossed lovers at war
against a world
full of disapproval.
And yet, reality is cruel.
You left me...you betrayed me...
Abandoned me for another...
Romeo and Juliet ends in tragedy.
This be our tragic end;
you the villainous traitor,
and I, the broken soul
never to seek...
Never to find...
Never to be loved...

  • Comment from author about the poem: Like many love stories, mine ended in tragedy. This happened some time ago. I fell in love with someone who played with my heart, took advantage, and left me for another in the end. His words were so beautiful, but his actions and intentions were not true. Love is blind indeed, and I let him destroy me for the sake of it. Despite everything, I have risen from my brokenness. This was originally a love poem I wrote to him in the past. Because our story was tragic, I edited and changed this poem into a tragic ending. I no longer grieve for my loss. Even if I had been foolish to fall so deeply, I have turned my pain into a work of art. Writing is art. My pain creates such beautiful art. Therefore, in the end, I regret nothing.
