Numb

CuriousSoul

You touch me with your soft smooth hands and I feel no emotion. Nothing running against my body.
I've become so numb. I want to be me not who you want me to be. You expect me to be like him but I'm not.
You don't love me for who I am instead you try changing me. You looked at me and shattered me like a mirror falling to a million pieces.
You try putting me together but I become more numb and more distorted for being someone you expect me to be.
I ain't perfect. I ain't going to be who you want me to be. I am my own man and if you change who I am then just leave.
The more you "fix" me the less I care. The less I feel. Soon becoming numb and heartless. Becoming ice cold like ice cubes in the freezer.
In the end you numbed me and hurt me like always. Now I'll never be the one you love anymore. You did this to me and I can't go back anymore.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem was sort of inspired by one if my favorite songs from when I was a kid. My mom would always play it and I would sing along with her even tho I was basically speaking nonsense since I didn't know what they were saying. Anyways it was inspired by the song Numb by Linkin Park. Hope you guys enjoy
