Psalm 37:5

psalm 37:5
I believe maybe things happen for a reason
maybe it was for the best for them to go
with time and separation
maybe it just wasn’t their part to be in this situation
and I know you want to build up these walls for isolation
sitting here looking stuck like
maybe if things would’ve been different, maybe something could’ve saved them from their ignorance.
but maybe if it was meant to be, things would’ve happened to work.
I know you want to go back like slow motion & reverse
and give us the happy ending we deserve
but things take time and I think that I should learn
the only thing you're doing is wasting mine
so now it's my turn
I give up on us and I'll make sure people have heard
that my heart no longer hurts
it no longer wants you
and believe me when I say this statement is true
things happen for a reason
and it happened to us too.
