The vicious storm approached the ship,

Heavy rain and strong wind shattered the deck;

The battered sails swayed to and fro,

Captain and crew fighting to avoid wreck;

No smiles but yells until trouble gone

Nothing is safe nothing is secured;

The courageous captain stubborn as a mule,

Sailors combating the seas as pains endured.

The crew’s enemy battered their ship hard,

Nothing left upturned as they searched for camp;

The captain searching for rocks to avoid,

Until finally he noticed the lighthouse lamp.

Over was that night of turmoil and fears,

Sailors elated, eyes filled with joyful tears.
